Cover of Costs by Health Insurances

All medical services are based on the private practice fee schedule only and are invoiced to patients on a private practice basis; patients are particularly told so beforehand.

Further Explanations:

  • The treatment of Lyme disease (diagnosis with time-consuming anamnesis + implementation of therapies that cause several meetings with physicians and examinations) is very time-consuming and is by no means covered by the flat-charge of the compulsory health insurance.
  • Furthermore, Lyme disease treatment demands the prescription of expensive medicine for a long period (e.g. antibiotics).  Lately this has lately led to extended recourse receivables of the compulsory health insurance companies towards the CHI physician.

On demand patients are provided with an estimate for treatment costs. Thus, the patient can find out beforehand with his compulsory or private health insurance company which costs would presumably be covered.

Note to patients with chronic Lyme disease:  There is still a big dispute about the disease and its meaning.  Due to this some health insurance companies only cover partial costs or even no costs at all for diagnosis and/or therapy.
