Welcome to the websites the Private Practice of C. Nicolaus (MD, PhD), general practitioner, & A. Schwarzbach (MD, PhD), laboratory medicine, a medical partnership for tick-borne diseases. It is a registered medical partnership specialised in private medical diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne diseases, particularly Lyme disease and possible co-infections.
The doctors of the medical partnership, specialised in tick-borne diseases, take you and your disease serious and listen to you. We are aware that chronic Lyme disease is very often misconceived and that chronically ill patients are often misjudged for being mentally instable or even depressive. We diagnose and treat holistically according to the ILADS guidelines (USA / www.ilads.org) and the recommendations of the German Borreliosis Society (www.borreliose-gesellschaft.de). Especially our view and opinion of chronic Lyme disease defines us as being contrary to many other scientific organisation (e.g. USA / www.idsociety.org).
Accoriding to our standards and the scientific guidelines of ILADS the disease pattern of "chronic Lyme Disease" needs the following:
- a long and comprehensive diagnosis in contrast to what is supported by health insurance companies (incl. specific laboratory tests - depending on the symptoms possible co-infections should be tested for as well)
- a holistic approach to therapy, which besides specifically fighting the pathogens (Borrelia and co-infection pathogens) also reduces chronic inflammations and aims for a reactivation or strengthenin gof the immune defenses and particular organ functions.
The Medical Partnership comprises Dr. Carsten Nicolaus (MD, PhD) and Dr. Armin Schwarzbach (MD, PhD) as partners as well as other employed doctors and freelance-based doctors.

Note: All medical services (diagnosis, therapy plans, therapies and medical therapy monitoring) are provided by the attending physicians of the "Medical Partnership" and will be invoiced on a private practice basis to the patient (according to the Medical Association`s professional code of conduct in Bavaria).
The range of services of the "Medical Partnership" Dr. C. Nicolaus, general practitioner, & Dr. A. Schwarzbach, laboratory medicine, medical partnership for tick-borne diseases includes the following:
- Diagnosis with extensive anamnesis and physical examination (incl. differential diagnosis with other diseases)
- Determination of necessary laboratory tests and analysis of the laboratory findings in the range of the diagnosis
- Taking of blood samples, technical examination (ultrasound, cardiogram etc.), infusions
- Development of a therapy plan
- Prescription of medicine and therapies
- Pain therapy
- Specialised diagnosis and therapy approaches including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Homoeopathy, Naturopathy
- Various appointments with the consulting physician, consultation services and other necessary examinations (therapy improvements)
- Referral letter and disease reports
We give recommendations, support and advice of how to implement a therapy plan in case of chronic Lyme disease.
